50K Your Way

Date: [20/10/2021] Our team has pledge to cover 50k or more between 1st and 31st October. We are covering 50K in any way we can think of, whether its on foot, by bike, on a space hopper! We at Sands Wealth Management are raising funds for Hope and Homes by getting involved in 50K Your Way! We are covering at least 50 kilometers during the month of October! We’re only half way through October and most of our team has already made it to 50K! How amazing is that? Only 5 more kilometers to go for Gintare and Lam until all of us at Sands Wealth Management past the finish line! We are hoping to test our limits as a team and raise valuable funds for Hope and Homes For Children. Your support has never been more vital. Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Today, there are at least 5.4 million children confined to orphanages. Around 80% of these children aren’t orphans at all. They have a living parent or relative who could care for them with the right support. The effects of Covid-19 have left families across the world even more vulnerable to poverty, homelessness and ultimately putting more children at risk of being separated from their loving families. Just £158 could help keep a family together. It allows the Hope and Homes for Children’s teams on the ground to provide tailored support to prevent parents from losing their child to an orphanage. If you would like to support and donate to our 50K Your Way Challenge, you can do so by clicking on our JustGiving page below. LINK BELOW: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/swmhopeandhome Every donation is matched by St. James's Place Wealth Management to raise valuable funds for Hope and Homes for Children

Sands Wealth Management partners with Hope and Homes for Children

Date: [01/10/2020] We are thrilled to announce that Sands Wealth Management is now in Partnership with the Hope and Homes for Children charity. It is a privilege to be involved with such an incredible charity, that has been helping children grow up in loving homes since 1994. 80% of the 8 million children confined to orphanages have at least one living parent or close relative who could care for them with the right support. And for children without a family, there is always a better option than an orphanage. Science show that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, exposing them to high levels of sexual and physical abuse, extreme neglect and stunting their physical, emotional and psychological development. For some children this means they will never learn to talk or walk. Hope and Homes for Children, work to: Keep families together, helping children stay where they belong, with the people who love them. Reunite families, helping children come back to where they belong and stay together. Build new families, giving children a place to belong and someone to love them. Hope and Homes aim to generate wholescale child care reform and build and strengthen childcare services to ensure that every child can grow up in a safe, loving environment, both now and in the future. We look forward to working with Hope and Homes over the foreseeable future. We are currently donating towards the closure of the Bistrita Institution which the charity is aiming to close in January 2021. The money donated will go towards securing the ground space and beginning construction of the Small Group Homes, with the hopes that children and young adults from Bistrita Institution can move into their new home as early as possible in 2021 Visit their website to find out more: https://www.hopeandhomes.org

Volunteering at The Real Junk Food Project

[Date: 14/05/19] Today the Sands Wealth Management Team spent the day volunteering for The Real Junk Food Project (TRJFP) and aiding their catering branch ‘Zelig’. Zelig caters to events of any size, (including our last quarterly team meeting in April) using perfectly good waste food acquired through TRJFP's network - simultaneously tackling global food waste, and raising funds for TRJFP. Our team first spent the morning training at the Wakefield Sharehouse, and then made over 500 sandwiches and helped prepare cooked food as part of a large buffet catering for 270 people at The Light Leeds, Vue Cinema. All leftover food was then taken home by the Vue Cinema staff, resulting in 150kg of surplus food not being wasted.

Celebrating 10 Years of Sands Wealth Management

Date: [01/05/2019] I am proud to announce that Sands Wealth Management celebrates its 10th year of business this month. I am sincerely proud of our continued growth, from relatively humble beginnings as a sole trader, to now having 3 advisers; two of which are chartered planners. Alongside the advisers we have 7 highly capable experienced staff members which create a highly competent Team. Our business is strengthened further by the backing of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, of whom we are a Senior Practice. This enable us to do what we do best, with the support and guidance of an award winning FTSE 100 company. We continue to invest yearly in our most important asset, out Team: through continued professional development and training, which I am proud to say has resulted in extremely low staff turnover during our years in business. This gives you reliability and assurance that we truly understand your wealth and needs, as we travel with you on your financial journey. I am fiercely proud of my business and my team and I sincerely feel that our valued clients will agree that we do truly stand out from the crowd as a wealth management firm. We’d like to thank our clients for their ongoing support. Jonathan Sands & the Sands Wealth Management Team

Date: [28/03/2019] Our Adviser James Cunnington went back to Bradford Grammar School to attend their 'Careers in Law and Finance Networking Lunch' yesterday. During the networking event, he joined other financial professionals in speaking to current Sixth Formers about a career in finance. James thoroughly enjoyed supporting the pupils towards making a decision on their future career choices and appreciated the chance to go back to the Grammar School that he attended.

Buffet lunch, provided by The Real Junk Food Project

Date: [20/03/2019] Zelig Catering who are part of The Real Junk Food Project and also based in Wakefield, provided a buffet lunch for our team this week, 100% made from food that would have otherwise been surplus and wasted. The Real Junk Food Project is a collaborative effort to bring about a radical change in our food system. They save perfectly edible food that would otherwise not make it to your plate, and make it available to all on a Pay As You Feel basis. All food waste that they intercept is processed, quality controlled and distributed through their network of cafes, sharehouses, schools and community groups. We were extremely impressed with the buffet. The food was all made by their catering team and fed our team for 2 days as they continued to eat the leftovers for lunch the next day too! We have decided to use The Real Junk Food Project for all our office buffets from now on and are recommending them to everyone we know.

We are now supporting local charity ‘The Real Junk Food Project’

[Date: 10/03/19] We are proud to announce that we are now supporting 'The Real Junk Food Project'. The Real Junk Food Project is a collaborative effort to bring about a radical change in our food system. They save perfectly edible food from supermarkets, distributors, and wholesalers that would otherwise not make it to your plate, and make it available to all on a Pay As You Feel basis. All food that they intercept is processed, quality controlled and distributed through a network of cafes, Sharehouses, Freegan Boxes, schools and community groups. Around 1/3 of food globally is wasted (around 1.3 billion tonnes). Simultaneously, hundreds of thousands of people in the UK are living in poverty. The Real Junk Food Project believe that everyone should have access to enough food to sustain them - it's a human right. The Real Junk Food Project provides the network to empower people in their community to make a difference. At Sands Wealth Management, our Team will be giving valuable time and labour - volunteering at the Wakefield Sharehouse on a regular basis. Aside from volunteering, TRJFP have been given access to our boardroom for meetings with their national partners, and our marketing Team have been supporting both TRJFP and the Wholemeal Café Ripon by designing posters and other marketing collateral.
